“It’s brand new, so it can’t be haunted.” We hear this every week. A house can be new, but the land, the materials and the things you bring into it are not.
1. The land has a history.
Many new subdivisions are built on old farmland, homesteads or roads.
2. Reclaimed materials.
That barnwood accent wall came from somewhere.
3. Antiques and heirlooms.
The most common source of activity in new homes is something brought in after move-in.
4. Activity started on a date you can name.
If it began the week a box arrived from Grandma’s estate, mention that when you book.
5. Your pets noticed first.
Animals are often more sensitive than people.
New homes are usually the easiest to clear. Most need only a Gentle Nudge.
